100days – Day 14

Posted by Ted on Feb 9, 2010 in Photography

The last few days have continued with varied subjects. The minor breakthrough has been that I have given myself permission to use the camera on my iPhone 3G as well as my primary dSLR, a Canon 20D.

Cherry Blossom

A project such as this requires both commitment and flexibility, and as I carry my phone with me always, it only makes sense to utilize its camera as well to maximize my chances of being able to take an image every day. It’s not a great camera, with a microscopic lens, low resolution, and notoriously bad in low light, but for publishing on the web in 72 dpi, it can be quite adequate, as this photo of a cherry tree in bloom clearly shows.

My favorite of the most recent batch is last night’s image of a memorial candle burning in a decorative lantern, capturing the texture of the glass in the flickering light.
